Domestic Airlines Add Routes To Macau
Submitted by admin on Mon, 11/26/2007 - 10:07.With the continuous development in China's tourism sector, Macau's connections to both international and domestic cities by air is becoming more convenient with the addition of new routes.
Shenzhen Airlines began to operate a route between Wuxi and Macau on November 20 with one round-trip flight each day. Meanwhile, Macau International Airport and Wuxi Airport established a sister airport relationship and they will cooperate in opening new routes, sales, and information sharing.
Wuhan-based East Star Airlines opened a daily flight between Wuhan and Macau on November 22.
MAS to relaunch KL-Macau route
Submitted by admin on Wed, 11/07/2007 - 08:31.Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will relaunch flights to Macau after a nine-year hiatus to take advantage of the country's economic growth and strong demand from air travellers.
The airline's senior general manager of network revenue management, Bernard Francis, said the route would be relaunched from Nov 10 with a frequency of four flights weekly.
The national carrier started flying to Macau on Nov 9, 1995, but suspended the route on March 21, 1998, due to low demand and non-profitability.

Viva Macau was honored New Airline of The Year at the Aviation Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner Ceremony held in Singapore on 31 October, and organized by Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA), the region’s pre-eminent aviation strategists.
AirAsia to launch Kuching-Macau route on Nov 15
Submitted by admin on Thu, 09/20/2007 - 04:26.Budget carrier AirAsia will launch its first international connection from Sarawak when it inaugurates the Kuching-Macau daily flight on Nov 15.
Its Kuching station manager Shanmugamnathan Suppiah said the carrier would add more flights if there was more demand from travellers.
"If the Kuching-Macau flight is a success, we may consider introducing a Kuching-Shenzen route," he said when meeting state Urban Development and Tourism Minister Datuk Wong Soon Koh on Thursday.
Wong said the Kuching-Macau service as opened "a window" for Sarawak to the rest of the world.
